Even new houses can have air leaks and insulation gaps. North Haven Sustainable Housing (NHSH) is working to create new initiatives the help weatherization and efficiency upgrades for island homeowners. Currently, homeowners interested in this work should visit Efficiency Maine’s website for rebates on weatherization and other efficiency programs that they offer. Current rebate programs cover the following:

• Energy audits and home air sealing

• Basement spray foam

• Attic and wall insulation with cellulose

• Basement vapor barriers and drainage work

• Heat pump installation
